The Bizniz Hustle: Cape Transit SA

Transporting (and inspiring) the Nation.

My name is Rayyan Davis. I am 23 years of age and I was born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. I studied Bachelors of Law (LLB) and left my studies in my second year to pursue my passion in business, which led me to create a travel and tours company which is currently running as Cape Transit SA.

During my school years, I was never the brightest spark in class. I always struggled to progress to the next grade and to seek approval from my family with good results. I was bullied for being overweight as a child, doubted by family and friends, laughed at for being misunderstood, advised to settle for less and forced to follow the system. The type of negativity and failures I faced is what made me a positive and stronger individual.

At the age of 19 and studying law, I started my very first company within the sport, fitness and health industry. It was successful for about 6 months, until I had to completely shut the company down due to start-up business mistakes that I have made.

At the time I was disappointed. I felt lost, as if I failed in life. I felt this way for a year until I made the decision to sell my first car. I used whatever capital I had left to purchase a brand-new vehicle in order to start a transportation company within an industry that my father was involved in for many years, which also had a positive impact on me since childhood.

Currently, I am still facing challenges and failures, but then again, which successful business doesn’t face these obstacles. I trained my mind to see failure as a good thing and not something bad. Without failure there is no constant road to success.

I basically started with nothing and created my own work and job opportunity. I have a very strong saying and that is “Be a job creator and not a job seeker”.
