Skills for the New age – Uplifting communities, uplifting the Youth
There are many challenges associated with being unemployed as youth. However, there are also opportunities that young people who are unemployed should consider taking up. The youth are a very important group in South Africa as they are the future of the country.
My name is Lauren Leonard (25) and I am the CEO of Digi Space Hub.
Our main vision is to transform the “You are not qualified criteria to let me see your skills” within the recruitment and private sector.
Founder, Lauren Leonard says, “My vision is to bring up more young people who can develop their own businesses and help them prosper.
“Businesses, SMEs hire us, and we create digital job opportunities within Africa especially focusing on the poverty-stricken areas”.
We have identified a gap in the system whereby, the unqualified yet skilled individuals will have the chance to grow within the corporate sector and develop their digital skills.
With college tuition soaring nationwide, many South Africans don’t have the time or money to earn a degree. However, that doesn’t mean your job prospects are diminished.
I believe that often it’s those people who don’t go to school and make their way in the world, those are exceptional human beings. And we should do everything we can to find those people. We use these talents, to help grow another business – We aim to make Africa Flourish” says Lauren.
Digi Space Hub will pave a way for students, skilled, unskilled or unqualified young people with talents can secure a job and gradually learn within their passionate sector.
We believe in the following:
- If you are good at something, let us use your talents instead of looking at if you have a qualification behind your name.
- To uplift our youth, instead of breaking them down.
The digital Hub is created to allow young people to flourish with or without a degree. Many companies within South Africa, would not even consider looking at your talents before they have a look at your degree or type of qualification.
To create more job opportunities within South Africa that does not look down at anyone that does not have certain qualifications. Uplifting our youth…
“The struggles of today shape the solutions for tomorrow!”
