Free crime response App goes national!


The Namola Crime Response App was launched nationally by The SABC through its TV channel, SABC 3. They have come on board as Namola’s official media partner. The crime response App was initially launched as an “Uber for police” in the city of Tshwane and later, the whole of Gauteng from 2015. The Namola Crime Response App is also in partnership with South African insurance company Dial Direct.

The SAPS released the country’s crime statistics for 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 at the end of October of this year. The crime statistics in the factsheet is presented in absolute numbers.

The mobile crime response app has been launched nationally to minimise the number of unreported crimes. It allows users to share their GPS coordinates, name and nature of the emergency with a 24/7 response call centre, and will now be accessible around South Africa.
