Inspired by ‘Crafted Retro’ as the core theme, the designs based on traditional Scandinavian look are given an edge with bold colour blocking, elegant stripes and vintage-inspired materials. Achieving a balanced fusion between sport and fashion, muted tones with colourful details are introduced with iconic PUMA logos and graphics.
Playing with white tones, transparent textures and vintage materials, Creative Director Jannik Davidsen gives progressive styles a hand-crafted analogue feel with random stitching and raw edges. His take on the original retro-running silhouette from the 90s, CELL Venom HAN features the bold chunky sole with translucent rear pod fitted with PUMA’s innovative CELL cushioning technology. The breathable mesh upper paired with vintage suede and shiny silver leather overlays adds to the heritage look.
He further elevates the sneakers with a unique ripped double-tongue construction with co-branded graphic label and bright neon asymmetric system. Using multicolour details for retro sport vibes, RS-X HAN is decked with contrast overlays, reflective trims and neon details. While the sculpted layered sole is engineered with PUMA’s comfortable RS (Running System) technology, the progressive silhouette features a sporty mesh upper with hot-melt overlays. Completing the look is a unique eye-stay shape design with neon flecked rope laces.
The apparel combines elements from all previous collections that create a crafted vintage range – faded graphics in bright vintage colours inspired by the AW’18 collection, striped fabrics with burn out effects from SS’18 and even the 80’s hues developed for AW’17. From PUMA x HAN Crew in French Terry to PUMA x HAN Half Zip sweatshirt and PUMA x HAN Track Pants in woven fabric, the entire range continues to channel sport-inspired retro vibes. The collection also includes the PUMA x HAN Cap with 6 panels in stripe fabric.
The PUMA x HAN collection will be available at PUMA SELECT stores, X-Trend, Superbalist, Madaiza and selected retailers from 2 May 2019.
