I’m Tania De Gouveia, I’m a Portuguese, born in CPT and my stage name is TINY T.
I was 18 years old in Matric when I started DJing. I wanted to be a music producer when I was growing up and I was also the playlist curator for many house parties. My brother was also a Dj and over the years I picked up interest for the craft. He had a pair of turntables and I would watch him play. I would also carefully watch how he switched everything on and when he wasn’t home I would take over.
Fast forward to 5 years – I have a weekly club residency at Kennedy’s, I play at the craziest events & clubs around CPT and I have started learning music production.
These past 5 years have been quite the rollercoaster. I have learnt so much about myself at a personal and professional level. I take every situation and challenge I’m encountered with as a learning curve and a step closer to becoming a stronger person. I try to always be positive with everything. Right now, I am learning new techniques to improve my skills and sets. I am also learning how to be a more confident artist and how to interact with crowds more.
For these past 2 years my life has consisted of schedules. I am currently in my second year of B Com Law and it gets tough as I have to put my studies first.
When I’m not studying or DJing I’m either chilling, listening to music, watching movies or series, jogging, playing soccer with my family or I’m out with my family and friends. I’m quite chilled and I enjoy adventures and learning new things.
I traveled to Portugal 2 months ago and I can’t wait to travel again. My holiday explained briefly – I spoke so much Afrikaans, oh and Portuguese. I like Gin now. My muscles have grown thanks to carrying heavy luggage from place to place. I bought 8 pairs of socks. I have an uneven tan and on my last night I got to play a few songs and I partied till 7:30am, rushed to the airport to catch my 9am flight and I didn’t sleep for 2 days. (Don’t ever not sleep for 2 days, I’m still tired from it.)
