JOHANNESBURG- On Friday, the organisers of the first annual #BoothFest18, Booth Nightclub Sandton in association with Channel O, hosted a press conference for the event happening 24 November 2018. The press conference featured Nigerian Superstar- Wizkid, Bragga fashion line owner and rapper- Nadia Nakai, and “Lord of the hits”, South African producer- DJ Maphorisa.
The event will certainly be one to watch out for, even Wizkid proclaimed at the press conference that “where there are Africans, it’s a turn up”. Wizkid is an artist that loves to promote other artists and allowing them to show their potential. The international artist of many accolades loves to fill up venues and prefers to “always have younger artist and younger talent take over.” Wizkid is also a business man, he understands that “an artist can never be here [relevant] for twenty, thirty years” and so he also has a focus on growing his business and brand. The Fever hit maker says he looks forward to the event and always enjoys being in South Africa.
Alongside Wizkid was Nadia Nakai, the only female rapper on the line-up. Nadia says it is only natural to feel pressure before a performance but also admits that she has worked hard to earn her stage rights. “I feel like I’ve worked hard to be able to get on a stage like this and it means a lot to be allowed on a stage like this with amazing artists that I respect. But I have worked hard and deserve to be there”. The Bragga artist and fashion line starter also promised to release her album soon. “I have just gotten super busy this year that I actually don’t have time to promote the album, but it will be coming through in the first quarter. I just don’t want to give dates”. Nadia will also be performing at the Capsule Fest sponsored by Sportscene that we [Thebiznizblog] will be covering. The Booth Fest is there to awaken and nourish talent and potential, it is a great representation of African collaborations and union. The “Best Night Club in Johannesburg” is known for its unique style and class that is guaranteed for the festival attendees. Heavy weight musicians, a-list talents such as the extravagant Somizi Mhlongo, will share a stage for entertainment of a kind. The line-up includes Africa’s finest artists, the likes of Harbokey, Bolo J, AKA, Riky Rick, DJ Tira, Babes Wodumo and DJ Vigilante, just to name the bare minimum. Majority of the performer are SAMA winners and nominees. The fest is taking place on 24 November 2018 in Randburg.
